Annabelle Meare violin

Since studying with Yfrah Neamen in London and Lorand Fenyves in Toronto, Annabelle Meare has gone on to enjoy a varied career as both chamber musician and orchestral principal. Annabelle regularly performs and records with such groups as the Nash Ensemble, the Kungsbacka piano trio, and the Schubert ensemble. She is a regular guest at chamber music festivals including Midsummer music, Incontri in Terra di Sienna, Moritzburg, Bergen, Oslo, Trondheim and Hardanger festivals. She currently holds the position of Principal second violin of the Philharmonia Orchestra with whom she has toured and recorded extensively since 2004. Annabelle has been a member of the Vertavo String Quartet for the past 9 years. Vertavo tour extensively throughout Europe, Japan and the US. In the past season, tours and concerts have taken them to Norway, Spain, Israel, Sweden, Poland, Italy, the US, Australia and the UK. The quartet's discography is a diverse one and includes Schumann, Brahms, Grieg, Debussy, Bartok, Nielsen, Asheim, all for SIMAX Classics. Their Debussy and Grieg recording received the Diapason d'Or. Their most recent SIMAX release is of Beethoven's Op.130 and Op.133. They are passionate advocates of contemporary music, working closely with composers such as Saariaho, Sophia Gubaidulina and Paul Rouders. Vertavo Quartet are Artistic Directors of Vertavofestivalen held annually in Norway. Annabelle is co founder of the West Wycombe Chamber Music Festival held every September. This year they will celebrate its 10th Anniversary. Annabelle plays a violin by Francesco Goffriller
